To create utopias you must first imagine them.

Tumblr
uh oh... currently overthinking the concept of a human sized dog with a pet cat...
aaaand ... I want to draw that particular cat walking their even smaller pet dog...
@futurebird
After about 20 layers you're going to have a (dog,cat) nucleus walking its (cat,dog) electron.
@futurebird or a normal sized dog with an ant sized cat..
@futurebird happens to the best of us
@futurebird that was the first thing I thought about when I saw this image

@futurebird The cat is using the dog as a comfortable seat. In no way whatsoever is any ownership implied.

🤪

I changed the link to one where I wrote a more complete image description.
@futurebird does that dog really need a fireplace? Surely those eyes are so huge they can read in the dark.
@futurebird
Only problem here is the coffee is too far away to reach without disturbing the cat. Otherwise, this is heaven.
@mcpinson @futurebird Correction - there are also no snacks. In my utopia, there would be a big overstuffed chair with plenty of room for me and the cat and the book, and a small table right next to the chair to hold the mug of tea and the small, infinitely refilling plate of chocolate sugar cookies.
@futurebird
I love libraries. The Port Perry Library has to be one of the most charming.- Books and sitting right next to a lake with a view on to the lake.

@futurebird The idea of a big dog at my feet in front of the fireplace in my imaginary library never quite seemed to fit. But this works for me. :)

@futurebird
When this popped into my feed earlier it reminded me that the concept of "Utopia" is a paradox. So, I did a little googling to reconfirm then left it at that.

Basically ... Thomas More .. blah-blah ... one-size-fits-all ... blah-blah ... Those Who Walk Away from Omelettes (yum) ... ho-hum ... Greek for "no place" ...

However, I just reopened Google and the page now has Google Scholar recommendations at the top!

@futurebird

Should credit KC Green for the original.

@futurebird Whereas dystopias emerge in the real world seemingly without effort.
@futurebird change the books to dvds/blu-rays and the mirror into a wide screen TV and that's pretty much me and Couch potato buddy!
@futurebird even if Tumblr were a person they’d know KC Green’s work 😏

@MrFrenchFries

Is Panpanoply Green's account?

@futurebird @MrFrenchFries i just read that response as meaning they drew the library background and associated edits
@futurebird The magic item I want is a portable door to a study where I can read for as long as I like and then return to the rest of my life with no time having passed.
@bonkydog @futurebird this would be amazing. I'd use it to appear to be a fountain of seemingly unbounded knowledges.

@llewelly @futurebird

especially when you start going there to write

@bonkydog @futurebird I have one of these - it's called "the loo"
@futurebird finally, the dog gets it right!
@futurebird Oh, I am stealing this (giving credit to Penpanoply)! Cicero should have had a cat!!!
@futurebird Am I the only one nervous about that fireplace?
