Good coding is art.
@nixCraft so true... you can learn a lot about him just reading his coding
@nixCraft We only have enough time at work for finger paints.
@nixCraft I like the way Linus always described it as “good taste”.

@nixCraft I suspect that any craft mastered and elevated to the level of intuitive creation crosses over into art.

There are no lessons available for cutting Gordian knots. As much as we might sometimes pretend that coding is all about perfect execution of engineering best practices, the Muse is still a big part of really good code.

@nixCraft good art is good coding

@nixCraft

Craft, not art. But good craft can be better than bad art. In the end it‘s all about passion.

@nixCraft Good coding is iterated refinement.
@nixCraft I'm wondering, what if a bad coder claims his code is good but ahead of time, like Picasso?
@nixCraft Always told my students it was poetry. Deep down I think it’s a craft. 5% talent, 95% sweat.
@nixCraft personally I think its closer to literature. I've suffered through too many "creative" codebases.
@nixCraft Art because it's subjective?

@nixCraft

*deep sigh*

I'd settle for even barely decent :/
