@fraying Part of the problem is that massive success tends to corrupt over time.

Even the really awful ones seem like maybe they were better for awhile. Forget who I'm quoting with "rich people are like regular people but with less filters." But less filters, over time, tends to turn you into a sort of self-caricature. People aren't really built to be able to ignore their social filters, long-term.

@fraying Sadly, my business also uses Basecamp, but it's hard for me to imagine that A) any commercial competitor is not also run by a piece of shit or B) that whatever the Linux version is actually works.

@voron @fraying I manage to get about 15% of my audiobooks from the library (using the Libby app). I wish they had more, but as I understand things, audiobook licensing to libraries is really difficult and expensive for them. Congress really ought to do something about it. Moreover, because of the stupid licensing arrangements, out of press audiobooks disappear, unlike out of print physical books, which libraries, of course, get to keep and still lend. #Audiobooks #Libraries
