"For 18 months, members of our union, the Post Guild, have sought to negotiate a fairer contract for us all. But management has refused to bargain in good faith and repeatedly โ and illegally โ shut down negotiations over key issues, such as pay equity, raises that keep pace with inflation and our competitors, remote work policies, mental health supports, and a buyout package that seeks to reduce our workforce by 10 percent."

I will support the WaPo Guildโs walk-out on Thursday.
@JoshuaHolland The only confirmation for this that I found was on their X/Twitter page.
Someone should tell them to update https://postguild.org/ since the X/bird is gameable at managements behest.
The Washington Post Newspaper Guild has been a voice for employees at the company since 1934. We represent 1,000 people across the newsroom and in our commercial operations โ including award-winning journalists and the talented marketing, advertising and printing plant staff that help readers and watchers find their work.
They are late to the game. The editorial board has obviously had issues for a long time.
@JoshuaHolland. Each day makes disengagement easier. To wit, today's latest data-free entry. (It would have been so easy to quote JAMA: "the regret rate following gender-affirming surgery is thought to be approximately 1%"). https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamasurgery/article-abstract/2808129
https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2023/12/06/detransitioners-transgender-care-laws/ (gifted)
I assume I will read an article tomorrow about the 99% who have no regrets, whose lives have been saved, who are fleeing their home states because their #medical care is being taken away, banned (like books).
I don't engage with WaPo content any other day of the year, so easy ask.
But I do wish them success.
Gosh, I'll do my best but I've not been there since the big rework of the site when Arianna owned it.
