How we beat back the corporate takeover of America:

1. Break up corporate monopolies

2. Continue building union power

3. End Citizens United and get big money out of politics

Let’s keep working to unrig the system.

@rbreich + tax billionaires

@ottaross @rbreich

The only context where 'drop the T' is based

@rbreich Good list, but will need to reverse the order for it to happen.
@rbreich
All good ideas!
I would add 4. Raise the top income-tax bracket back to at least 90%, and get rid of most of the rich people's tax shelters. Billionaires are the biggest drag on positive change.

@rbreich

+ Ungerrymander our districts nationwide!

@rbreich That's the problem with the wealthy they have it all and still that's not enough.The greed is out of control.
@rbreich Where is Zombie Theodore Roosevelt when we need him?
@rbreich Unions are great for the workers except one in New York for Nurses in a Nursing home the owner is for the city not not upper New York

@rbreich

Also avoid the monopolies as much as possible, and try to buy local.

Avoid giving the monopolies your money, they are already ripping you off.

@rbreich
Great goals, but i dont see any plans.
How?
Here is a starter plan to me:

I think you might find this piece i wrote a while back useful:

https://sleepingbearpressdontwakethebear.wordpress.com/2020/07/30/the-league-of-10000/

The League of 10,000

  (possibly more like 5,000)   I have discussed in bits and pieces in other places, but I want to make this clear: Any 10,000 will do! If you hate the current political system in America,…

Sleeping Bear Press (Dont wake the bear)
And if you're unemployed uh...
........
@rbreich how about ending media control by their owners?
@rbreich can we move number 3 to number 1?
@rbreich the issue is even the simplest of the three solutions is not possible. Best to we outflank them by going into business with ourselves and to cut out big corporations wherever possible.
@rbreich How do we break up monopolies and end Citizens United with the current SC in power? It simply takes too long.
