I’m working on a Christmas EP with my dear, dear friend Ryan. We’ve been in a band since high school, Hurly Burly and the Volcanic Fallout, and it’s time to release a follow up to Hurly Burly for the Holidays.
I’m also working on our next CassettesFor.Me release, which, spoilers, will be Michael Cera Palin!! It’s their back catalog, and utterly phenomenal. We’ll do a blog blitz soon!
If you want your music released in a cassette subscription service, hit me up with some links!
I have a million other projects, including writing some new songs for the Doctor Deathray band, https://doctordeathray.Bandcamp.com and we’ve got practice Saturday.
I know I’ve got more to do. I’ve got to finish mixing the last artist from our Put On a Show series, and book our new In Your Living Room - In Space series.
Ok. That’s enough that I can think of at this moment. I’m sure @ajroach42 can help me remember more later.
10 track album
Short term: nailing down a Beatles solo.
Long term: working on a book about traveling medicine shows of yesteryear.
@rjblaskiewicz always love a good solo! Which song? And I’m assuming a Harrison solo?
And I’m super, super interested in that book! Please keep me up to date!
It's George's solo in All My Loving. Not super complicated, but if I lose my way or hesitate for a fraction of a second the whole thing derails. I'm in a faculty band at my school and we want to cover it. I'm the only guitarist (for now) so I do John's quick rhythm and George's solo.
@DoctorDeathray yeah my brain made me let them pile up! But my professors have been very kind and I am not stressed about it!!
Thanks for the encouragement! I hope your day is awesome today :)
@DoctorDeathray I just finished scoring the next episode of the Houdini serial I'm releasing next week.
I'm about to start editing the next episode of Expedition Sasquatch which also gets released next week.
Then I'm going to record some bits for @jandrews for the episode of Jupiter's Ghost releasing this month, and just generally start writing/recording/assembling some other bits for Jupiter's Ghost to be released in the coming weeks.
I'm working on a Jupiter's Ghost novella too, but I don't know if it will ever see the light of day.
At some point I have to start filming this weeks news for #NewEllijayTelevision, it's a big one, between the fire in blue ridge, the escaped kangaroo, Open enrollment, and Kissinger.
I'm working on #aurelisles today. I might put some more time in to the #mBBS today. We're trying to blend up a new espresso roast for the coffee shop. Our latest attempt was close, but didn't hit the mark.
@DoctorDeathray plus I'm involved in all the things you mentioned. Marketing MCP, getting Put on a Show out, figuring out In Your Living Room, releasing Cassettes for me, running a toy store, and an antique mall, selling VHS tapes.
I'm trying to get the Makerspace to stop losing money, and figure out how to pay myself a wage, and maybe even stop losing money on my father.
You know, all the things that go along with all that.
The demos of the upcoming creative commons and public domain antifascist audio collage album by ArtFED y friends. https://ko-fi.com/resistanceinternational
@DoctorDeathray Just finished a PC swap/upgrade. Working on getting the kids' holiday situation sorted out, as far as spoiling them rotten goes.
Also, I'm trying to figure out how to not avoid cleaning the bathroom. I hates it, I do.
its a pretty technical project so it can be difficult for me to explain. The basic gist is I'm making a tool for making android apps from scratch. My goal is to create an alternative to using the official Android SDK for my own use@DoctorDeathray Me too - not usually anything so... charged.
My course leader advised we pick a large data set and go from there.
Did you know that the Washington Post has a downloadable and very detailed spreadsheet of all the lies Trump told while in office? Well, neither did I and now my brain is broken. 😆
@DoctorDeathray 30,573 lies - in public at least.
And in case you're wondering, they just about fit on an A0 sheet of paper at 1.3pt Helvetica type.
@DoctorDeathray
Not much to write home about. The most important and also most boring is on-going weight-lifting and physical therapy to regain some of the functions I lost after a car accident a few years ago.
In the garden, we're working on a long-term dry-stack rock wall project. Also a more permanent keep-the-doggos-in fence.
I'm trying to work through the Make: Electronics book but it's slow-going and I only seem to make head-way in fits and starts.
I really like hearing about what you and the Ellijay folks are up to.
protecting freedom of expression!!!
Great question! Learning about RedGate data-masking software, so we can take actual customer data (with the customers' permission) containing actual human data and masking it with fake human data (names, addresses, ids, etc.) so we can use it for development, testing and demos without spraying protected info around too much.
Yay, gov't regs. 🙂 W/out them, we probably wouldn't spend the effort.
