The lack of a safe disposal site for #fracking water (can cause earthquakes esp when injected deep AND groundwater contamination when injected shallow) in the capital of TX (?US?) oil production (my hometown, #MidlandTX) is forcing a choice between oil production and human habitability.

Drought made a bit of this story— the city spent $200m building an emergency water line.

They started using recycled water now in their supply. Not clear if for drinking or other uses

I remember the water being remarkable when I was a kid for its high amount of fluoride making it sometimes only potable. And providing a visual que of rich kids (drink bottled water) versus poor ones (drink tap) for the severity of fluorosis on your front teeth.
