The biggest “pro-Israel” lobby isn’t AIPAC, it’s Hagee’s Christians United for Israel, which counts more white Evangelical members—10 million—than there are Jews in the US.

Given that AIPAC has a lot of Evangelical support, and American Jews prioritize Israel near the bottom of their list of issues, it’d be nice if people stopped conflating Diaspora Jews with #Israel. #judaism

American Jews are the most liberal religious group and the Israeli gov, like the white Evangelical movement, is dominated by fundamentalist wingnuts so they’re natural allies.

There are obvs far-right American Jews, but most of us hate Bibi and everything he stands for.

@JoshuaHolland Except I do not think Netanyahu wants Israel to be destroyed by a nuclear Holocaust

‘This war is prophetically significant’: why US evangelical Christians support Israel

One strand of evangelical theology holds that the return of Jews to the region starts the clock ticking on a seven-year armageddon, after which Jesus Christ will return

@JoshuaHolland it seems to me that the devil has some type of irony

@JoshuaHolland The Christian Evangelicals who want to support Israel because they think doing so will bring about the literal apocalypse need more negative press attention.

They are probably the closest thing the real world has to one of those death cults in fantasy fiction that worship a slumbering skeleton god that they want to wake up so it eats the world and kills everyone.

@floatybirb and by fantasy fiction, you mean the Bible. Killing mankind is the actual plot line of that book.
@JoshuaHolland
@JoshuaHolland I don't assum Jewish people are Zionists. Many of the most outspoken opponents of the current disaster are Jewish. AIPAC on the other hand states very clearly they are a Pro-Israel organization and go to great lengths to push their agenda.

@JoshuaHolland Plus, Hagee et al aren't interested in your health or safety as a people. They want to you all back in Israel so their particular little apocalypse story in their little religious book comes to pass. It's ALL ABOUT trying to "fulfill the prophecy" from Revelation.

They are not on Israel's side. Never have been.
