Hey #SmartHome #automation fediverse! I'm looking for a doorbell (not camera) that can be integrated into #HomeAssistant. I would just use a #zigbee button but the wife wants something that looks more like a conventional doorbell and has a label. We have some #homematicIP things but the #hmIP doorbell is too ugly. Anyone have any suggestions? #iot #askfedi

@rtward Yeah, we have the PoE model on the front door. This is for the side entrance and we explicitly don't want a video doorbell and need something wireless.

@ln 🤦‍♂️ Sorry, that's on me for not reading better. Traditional doorbell to an ESP or something like that? My first go to would have been an Ikea Zigbee button as well.

@rtward Yeah, I'm at the point where I'm thinking of gutting a zigbee button and attaching it to a regular doorbell. Can't make holes into the wall either, sadly.
