@MonaApp Of course not! I thought API access was killed off?
@MonaApp How can your app still work? :)
@MonaApp I assume this requires the user to enter their own API credentials?
@alexhall No additional setup required. Works out of the box.
@MonaApp How'd you manage that? I thought they killed off all third party API access? I'm happy to hear this, even if I'm not really on Twitter anymore, I'm just confused. :)

@alexhall @MonaApp I think it scrapes the web view and is just like an interface on top?

When I tweet from spring it says "twitter for web"

@zav_ @MonaApp That's one way to do it.
@zav_ maybe someone could do this with tweetbot, not sure how hard it’d be though
@millions I think the ui is limited by this though, for example tweets older than a few weeks cannot be retrieved I think
@alexhall @MonaApp It’s amazing. I use it every day only way I would bother to use Twitter.
@MonaApp @alexhall Still using it every day. I only have the official Twitter app on my phone for the notifications.
@MonaApp How does this still work, and how is it differ from Spring?
@remixman Hi, Spring mini only works on iPhone. For iPad and Mac, and some extra features, check out Spring: https://geo.itunes.apple.com/app/id1508706541

@MonaApp So…it definitely WORKS. I went ahead and installed it and it logged into Twitter just like normal (as in it seemed like a regular log in to Twitter (“X” 🙄)) and I see my Twitter feed.

I have no idea how this is pulling it off.

Caveat: only “issue” is that it uses local bookmarks rather than showing Twitter ones (I’ll update if/as I find any other quirks)

@MonaApp It’s a shame it doesn’t read the Twitter Bookmarks, as I’d love to use it to download my Twitter Bookmarks in a non-giant archival block format.
@MonaApp Wait what? how does the app work again?
@MonaApp Tried the app and logged in with no issues. Intrigued as to how this is working with access to their API?
@MonaApp How does this work? Are you just using a regular api key and hoping Elon doesn’t remove it?
@MonaApp Looks like just the iOS app and not the iPad or macOS version. I can understand the cost, but I also understand the risk of it potentially just not working at any moment.
@JPZ Hi, Spring for Twitter is also available as a Universal Purchase (purchase once, get on iPhone, iPad and Mac) https://geo.itunes.apple.com/app/id1508706541

@MonaApp Nah not on Twitter. Keeping an eye out for some bluesky related news though 👀

@Josh @MonaApp Upvote on that. I’ve been using Sora on Bluesky and Mastodon, and it’s a fun but VERY different experience from Mona, and the BlueSky integration is wonky (real issue with replying)

I’d love to see a version of Mona that supported Bluesky. I mean you’re not BUSY or anything right? 😂
Anyways glad to have a non-Twitter way to keep my account active enough to not delete and download good articles to post elsewhere.

@Wraithe @Josh @MonaApp Sora? Is that a new testflight project?

If so I'd greatly appreciate a link, the stock bluesky app is quite literally horrible... 🙌

@zav_ @Josh @MonaApp Nope it’s live.
However, I will again say it has glitches as a blue sky client.
If you’re using blue sky, I would recommend you use Graysky

Graysky isn’t as good as any of the Mastodon apps that are out there, but it’s better than the stock BS app, which I agree is terrible.

@zav_ @Josh @MonaApp Graysky has some nice features like supporting hashtags, and animated GIFs on Bluesky - I’ve been informed there’s a beta, which is even better, but I’m not on that so lol.😂

@Wraithe @Josh Yhea but if only something like @IceCubesApp existed for bluesky
@zav_ @Josh @IceCubesApp Absolutely. I say it over and over again, but I think one of the big “edges” that Mastodon has is the rich third-party app environment.
@Wraithe @zav_ @IceCubesApp I think that will definitely come to Bluesky as well. Just kind of a chicken and egg situation. Once the network opens up and is no longer invite only I think there will be bigger developer interest
@zav_ @Josh @MonaApp Also, it’s worth repeating that Sora’s interface is a little…different. it actually has algorithmic discovery and a bunch of other “non-Mastodon features“ and it looks a lot more “Pop” if that makes sense? It’s very colorful.
@Josh @MonaApp Also, I just heard back from the developer for Sora and they say the posting issue on BlueSky will be fixed next update. So yay!
@Josh @MonaApp Same!! I would pay quite a lot for Mona for bluesky...
@MonaApp Deleted my account. Will never go back. Long live mastodon
@MonaApp That's definitely one for me, thank you!
@MonaApp How did you managed to do that?
Also I was really surprised, that importing a mona theme worked as well 😮
I‘ll probably not use it very much - because of Teitter itself, but it is reslly awesome.🤩
@MonaApp Waiting for Spring for Bluesky ☺️
@MonaApp I thought you couldn't use third party apps on Twitter(X) anymore?
@MonaApp I feel tricked a little as I bought Spring for the full price.
@NightDrake @MonaApp I still do once in a while. just use the android app and te windows 1. both still work fine for me.
@MonaApp yeah but it's not twitter is it
@MonaApp Thanks! FYI: selecting the Rooster icon gives a File not found error.
@MonaApp “This app is currently not available in your country or region” 😐
@MonaApp Wow, you're still able to access Twitter? That's remarkable.
@MonaApp Iam sorry if this may come across as a badd thing but is their danger in using Spring with Twitter accounts being suspended due to the use of API keys? I just don't want to risk my Twitter account from being black listed. Mind you I am not upset with you, this is strictly on X completely. I am just asking if their is risk at all here. Some have said there is risk.
@JeffBishop @MonaApp I don't think you need to worry, but I'll blame Elon if that happens, not the app I'm using. IMO
@JeffBishop @MonaApp Yeah that is why I will not use Spring for X just for that reason. I do not want to get in trouble. I've had friends who have.
@MonaApp Such strongly mixed feelings about this (“I thought I was out…”). In any event, thank you.
Are you willing to comment/speculate regarding how long you expect it to remain usable?
@MonaApp hello, I've downloaded Spring mini for Twitter and it doesn't have the notifications feature. Is there a way to enable it, or is this feature not available in the mini version?
@MonaApp FYI Spring for Twitter has an issue right now with icloud sync. The mac version doesn't iCloud sync back to iOS.
@dominocollege That’s usually an issue of iOS. Please make sure Low Power Mode is disabled and try restarting your iPhone.
