@GottaLaff @JeffreyV Yes, I can agree that he is a salesman skilled at selling himself, which is his only real product, and in that way manipulating people including but not limited to: lying to, falsefying, and generally saying what needs to be said, to his clients, whether that's in Real Estate or politics. But the reason he and his closest acolytes will ultimately fail is because his personal brand is the only thing holding everything together and it *is* becoming toxic, his legal troubles *will* unravel the basis of his power, which is imagined wealth (both in real estate terms and his own mental terms).
What I worry about more is not Trump, mainly because I do think he will lose next year (or maybe not even make it to the election) but what comes after Trump.
People like DeSantis and Johnson and Bannon who will continue to manipulate in the political way that destroys democracies and have a much longer lifespan than the Orange Monster. Trump is a clear and present danger to the American Republic but I think enough people see *him* clearly enough now that it will ultimately keep him from winning.
However, I believe if those others are allowed to keep the fascist train rolling even after Trump exits the scene *that* is the long term threat to American democracy and stability and we could see another Civil War in this century.
