@SURF I am trying to encourage colleagues to use #SurfDrive, & we can add colleagues from other #universities, but the KNHG & one of the teacher associations we work with do not have direct access. They use our folders via a public link with password protection but cannot use the client to sync files to their computers. I think this problem does not motivate colleagues to move away from #Google or #DropBox. With our German university #filesharing service Seafile, we could invite external users.

@mob Thank you for your message Monika! And good to hear you want to use SURFdrive. Each institution has its own setup of SURFdrive, the ict department is responsible for that.

@SURF This isn't the answer I was hoping for. I see two solutions: either #Surf provide better collaboration options for non-university partners, or there's a massive lobbying effort to make ALL educational institutions, museums, archives or national bodies like the KNHG use #SurfDrive in the near future. At the moment, #Surf really seems to be difficult to use in larger projects and in projects with an #outreach or #publicengagement component, although this is really what all the funders want.
