#OldSchool #VideoGame time: I really admire the way The Journeyman Project solved for time travel paradoxes.

They basically said, cause and effect aren't actually related - we just perceive them that way because of linear time. If you disrupt the cause, the effect still remains as long as it's far enough in the past.

For those who are unfamiliar with #TheJourneymanProject and may need context: it's primarily explained during this exposition early in the game (from about 20:15-24:50)

#TLDR: by securely storing a record of history in 200 million B.C. and then keeping a duplicate record in the current day, it's possible to determine if someone has meddled with history because the current-day record will change while the old one remains the same.

Because the first record is so far in the past it remains unaltered by any changes to human history since time distortions only travel forwards in time. *How* the record got there becomes decoupled from the fact that it *is* there.
