#TLDR: #MorganMcSweeney's strategy for #UKLabour was disastrously wrong, as Labour aren't bleeding any votes on the right: they are bleeding votes only on the left. This ain't rocket science.

Aww man, https://cheat.sh is down with an HTTP 500, and has been for some time. :(

It was a great supplement to #tldr/#tealdeer, and was easily curlable.

@7sleepersmusic higher education is a rotten business. It’s depressing that individuals with such deep knowledge and training in critical thinking have to kowtow to donors and funders who themselves answer to lunkheads with no understanding of the ideas/morals/ethics that sustain a country. Truly a system of a few good apples amid a damaged orchard. Sorry, I worked in higher education long enough to have become stupidly jaded. #tldr

@bengo @benpate @strypey @michiel and all pragmatic fedi friends.

Apologies for the length of my #FediThoughtTrain this morning.

#TLDR With regards to Ben's article on paternalism in tech, I think a deeper issue is touched: that society forces us to be experts in our field, making us unable to see the broader picture. Especially because of the rat race we are forced to walk, and compounded by the urgency of all the world problems we face.

SX is the applied study and experiments in the field, of knowing where to contribute our 2 cents in the best possible way and in concert with many others. While we pursue what for each of us is most important in life to give it purpose and meaning. This is of course for every person different, an intrinsic value of freedom.

Simple solutions still exist..

Like all SX solutions, they exist with a simple sticky note, from where they evolve..

PS. Following article relates to my next blog, also stipulates the expert problem: https://bjro.dev/posts/the-firmbyte-gap

So... this is really complicated. I had no personal life before Internet. I was extremely shy after finishing high school and also during couple of my first college years. I spent most of my time playing fiddling with state-of-the art computers of the era, and connecting them to Internet changed everything for me. The two most important projects of my life, arguable successful at least for some time, were Internet related. By being able to get in touch with people online, I somehow learnt to communicate also in real life.

I really strongly disagree with the way Internet works and looks these days. It became commodity. No more decentralization. Algorithms took over attention. AI is unpredictable bubble which may harm lot of people. It became normie stuff for self-confident normies, doing their best to trick other normies into huge troubles. But for somehow xxx-divergent people, Internet was life-saving invention, at some point.

Maybe it is time to reconsider and rethink everything. But pre-internet world was not friendly for everyone...
