"I don’t understand how after almost 4 years and millions of dollars, we still have nothing.
No vaccines that stop transmission
No monoclonal antibodies
No antivirals or treatments for LC
No clean air
No updated tests
No plan to stop this."

@gemelliz Ok to be fair:
1) That is NOT easy to do. There are thousands of diseases we haven't been able to stop the spread of, including ones that are more deadly than COVID
2) See point #1
3) Are you referring to Leptomeningeal carcinomatosis? That's CANCER. Cancer is hard for many reasons.
4) Huh? Air is fine most places.
5) People aren't USING the tests, so there's no demand to improve them>
6) We are in a MUCH better place with COVID now. Most people have some degree of immunity, and there is much better supportive care.
COVID isn't over, but it's endemic and manageable now.
@SoupGod228 @gemelliz Ah my bad.
There are lots of treatments for LC being explored. As a psychologist, I'm aware of several for the cognitive effects. Many of the drugs that help with ADHD also help the LC symptoms. That's part of why there was a shortage of them in the US this year.
Some anti Parkinsons meds work as well.
