Somebody made a cover of Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush in Early Middle English.

@Gargron play this at the next rave

@Gargron I saw that a few days ago, but despite my love for Kate Bush, my favorite remains Smells Like Teen Spirits in Latin.

@David @Gargron @ecksearoh
the_miracle_aligner's cover of Tribute in late latin sounds like something that would be played in taverns for +3 to Charisma and +5 to Performance.

@David @Gargron I love it! The 'R.I.P Kurtus Cobaenus 😢' in the description is a nice touch!
@David @Gargron Have to say that this feels right somehow.
@Gargron My inner English Lit nerd appreciates this so much

@Gargron
Haven't seen too many middle/old English renditions, bravo! I usually bump into this kind of stuff...

@Gargron Does this unresponsive YouTube card only happen to me or also to others?
@Gargron Bardcore is surprisingly awesome.

@BonehouseWasps @DavidNielsen @seastardodell Be sure to watch Holding Out for a Hero - the adapted lyrics, music and animated video are really well done.

@hrx @BonehouseWasps @DavidNielsen That’s so great! 👏🏻 “Fetch the leeches!” 🤣 Thank you for the recommendation!

@seastardodell @BonehouseWasps @DavidNielsen I especially like the video's end;
throughout the song the ladies sing about needing and holding out for a hero, but as the ending shows, not for his might, but his sword* - these two ladies can take care of themselves just fine :) .

* hinted earlier in the song; similar lyrics are not present in the original song

@Gargron

Superb. It's actually the first time I've listened properly to that song, apart from hearing snippets as background noise.

@Gargron That's amazing! I just wish they'd used a typeface for the EME that was a bit easier to read. The words aren't in the screen long enough for my brain to decipher every letter.
@Gargron Wow,this is beyond amazing 😍

@Gargron 😍 I was today years old when I learned what bardcore is and I’m here for it! @wikipedia #LivingUnderARock #bardcore #wikipedia #IThoughtIWasCool

@Gargron @celebrion so cool. Thanks for sharing that!
@Gargron More people need to know about this.

@Gargron This is what the internet was invented for 😂

I hope Kate sees this.

@Gargron There's also the version of On Melancholy Hill in Middle Scots

@Gargron

somehow this is exactly what I wanted to hear on this beautiful, quiet (except for the cats purring) Sunday morning.

Also fascinating because one of my current #books is "The World Horde: Daily Life in Old English" by Hana Videen.

@Gargron @nyrath Heavy use of thorn (þ) here
@Gargron Sounds pretty much like a song by Ásgeir.
@Gargron the literal translation of the word "bullet" from that song would be quite interesting!
@Gargron @OldAintDead that is beautiful! And what a lot of work went into it. Love it!
