@heidilifeldman @danielellis To be fully complete, to impeach a Justice requires that the majority of the House vote for impeachment, which means in practice that the Democrats would have to have a majority, and that majority would have to be big enough that they could still impeach despite any defectors.
To convict in the Senate requires a supermajority, which means Democrats would need at least 67 seats - probably more since turncoats like Manchin and SInema would certainly vote to acquit.
Code of conduct only for peons in the lower courts:
"The code of conduct for the federal judiciary …specifically prohibits both political activity and participation in fundraising. Judges are advised, for instance, not to “associate themselves” with any group “publicly identified with controversial legal, social, or political positions.”
"But the code of conduct only applies to the lower courts. At the Supreme Court, justices decide what’s appropriate for themselves."
@LaureM The article made reference to meetings where they rent the entire hotel, follow drivers out to the edge of the property, they police all the paper, and generally work to keep people who haven’t paid $100k+ from knowing what they’re up to.
That feels very conspiratorial.
