#FPQuestion of the day:
Do you keep the boxes/packaging your pen came in? In what cases do you decide to keep or throw away the box?
#FountainPen
@penfount So far I've kept most boxes, though it's getting close to time for a purge. If a pen came with accessories such as converters I will keep the packaging to store the accessories. I buy cheap pens, and I'm not a collector, so I'm not concerned about preserving resale value.
@penfount I keep all the boxes, all of them. I even have the ones for my Pilot Parallels. Why? I really have no good reason to do it.
@penfount I keep some special ones but most get tossed. I have no room for them.
@penfount So far I’ve kept all of my packaging, even if it’s nothing special, but I may soon start to get rid of some because it takes up a lot of space on my already too small shelves. For some pens I know that even on the off-chance I actually sell them, it won’t matter whether it comes in the original packaging.
@penfount I've kept most of the boxes except maybe those flimsy LAMY boxes.
@penfount I tend to keep any boxes, but not little sleeves that the cheaper pens come in. I’ve never gotten something with super wow packaging, but some are quite nice.
@penfount I've kept all the boxes of all my pens and inks 🤣 they all live together in a big plastic container
@penfount Generally, I do. The only times I tend not to keep them is if it's just a basic card or plastic box/packaging. If it looks like the company has put a modicum of effort into the packaging, then it goes into the attic instead of the recycling bin.
@penfount I've been trying to change my habits here, so they mostly go to recycling. The box situation got out of hand a little while back (mostly for electronics). Felt good recycling them.
