Here's the first day (links to the rest are at the top of the post) of backpacking in the Trinity Alps on my own after doing the first week of trail work. A bit of burn, crazy burn, surreal twice burned, scattered burn, grand (5th) day, then back across burn. Even burn has its moments.

Day 2, the crazy burn. So much burn. Pockets of pristine creek and some nice wildflowers, but mostly burn. A tough day with half the trail really hard to find.

There's still scattered burn and surreal twice burned areas on the third day backpacking, but there's also unburned and healthy after the burn areas. My plans had to morph a little and I got in tagging a peak right at the end!

The 4th day #backpacking the #TrinityAlpsWilderness did have some burn at the start, but mostly was a day of lakes and explorations. I stopped by one of the Forest's designated special places (for #geology) even!

The 5th day #backpacking was the best. The greatest lakes and a downright pretty good valley made up the bulk of the day. Finished the day with a new view of another pretty good valley.
