Today's #ThrowbackThursday is the bridge of the Norway-class USS Budapest!

I obviously designed this one with a lot of inspiration from Voyager, which isn't my favorite aesthetic (too much grey!), but it was an interesting change from the more Enterprise-E inspired interiors I was doing at the time.

You can see some more renders of it here: https://tadeodoria.com/projects/0XqdmG?album_id=8256033 🖖 ❤️

Tadeo D'Oria - Deck 05: Main Bridge

Budapest's bridge was relatively small and utilitarian. The captain sat at the center of the room with two small guest seats at each side, useful for visiting dignitaries to use during missions. The aft wall contained most work stations, clockwise these were: environment, mission ops, two engineering stations, operations, and science. The front of the bridge was in contrast sparse with only the flight control and communications stations.

@Rekkert I like the conversation pit for the captain and helms people. where does the first officer hang out?
@aeva @Rekkert maybe on one of the two benches by the captain's chair?

@floatybirb @aeva Being a smaller ship, the First Officer doubles as a Department Head and uses one of the aft consoles. Just like on the Defiant or the original Enterprise.

Those small bench seats by the Captain are for guests, inspired by the similarly awkward looking ones on Voyager that Neelix sometimes used.

@Rekkert @floatybirb @aeva I always felt sorry for the people sitting on those benches. One plot-critical hit and you've not only got a face full of emergency rocks, but you're also thrown across the bridge, possibly into the captain, because who needs anything to hold on to

@Rekkert Tu trabajo es digno para un estudio de cine. El nivel de detalle es asombroso. Mis respetos a tu trabajo. 🖖
