@nocontexttrek sometimes I'm not sure these quotes are real or I'm just making up new memories.
@Kaker they're always real unless it's obviously something like April fools day
@Kaker @nocontexttrek
O'BRIEN: Quark reasonable? Ha! Unlikely. You'll have to strike, mark my words. And when you do, you'll have to be strong.
ROM: Just like Sean O'Brien.
O'BRIEN: Exactly. You know, he had the biggest funeral in all of western Pennsylvania.
ROM: Funeral?
O'BRIEN: They fished his body out of the Allegheny river a week before the strike ended. Thirty two bullets he had in him. Or was it thirty four?
BASHIR: (finishing removing the cyst.) Well, he died a hero.
O'BRIEN: He was more than a hero. He was a union man.
@nocontexttrek That alt text 😄
@Fyrd @nocontexttrek thank you, I would have missed out on that gold if you hadn’t said!
@nocontexttrek Chief O'Brien, who can squeeze charcoal into diamonds while also pleasuring seven women and three men at the same time, is absolutely right about Union Men.
@jcutting @nocontexttrek I heard he single-handedly stopped the Dominion war with a glare and cracking his knuckles.

@doctorpepper @nocontexttrek
It's true.

As the song goes:

O Bri an
O Bri an
Six foot eight, weighs a fucking ton
Opponents beware, opponents beware
He's coming, he's coming, he's coming....

He'll save children but not the Cardassian children
He'll save children but not the Cardassian children
He'll save children but not the Cardassian children
He'll save children but not the Cardassian children

@jcutting @nocontexttrek Did you know his hair isn’t curly? They are actually tiny tesla coils, fuelled by pure rage and whisky.

It’s said that were he ever to smile, the universe would fold on itself.

@doctorpepper @jcutting Chief was once bitten by a poisonous snake, and after a week of excruciating pain, the snake died.
@nocontexttrek Would citizens of the socialist utopia of the Federation know about unions?
@michaelgemar @nocontexttrek Rewatching TOS, and I'm amazed at how detailed the characters' knowledge of 20th century history seems to be. Not sure if the academy was still covering that as in depth by TNG though.
@robert @michaelgemar @nocontexttrek there's heaps of dropping of 20th century knowledge in TNG and DS9. In DS9 Sisko, Bashir, and Jadzia Dax end up back in time (2024), and have detailed knowledge of the period: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Past_Tense_(Star_Trek:_Deep_Space_Nine)

@nocontexttrek Chief Miles O'Brien > Chuck Norris

@nocontexttrek If anyone can't see alt text:

Chief Miles Edward O'Brien, who could strangle you with a cordless phone if he wanted to, is pictured. Chief O'Brien, who can kill 2 stones with one bird, is facing the camera and winking. O'Brien, who can dribble a bowling ball, is on DS9 station and wearing his classic gold uniform, and has the energy of a man who is walking away from an explosion without looking backwards at it. Closed caption reads, "He was more than a hero. He was a union man."
