Great article on how the #media fails to meet its highest #journalism tenet: "hold power to account and follow the evidence" when covering #covid. "[mainstream outlets] have amplified voices and arguments that helped create a narrative that pathologizes those who remain cautious", a #bias “largely driven by systemic #ableism". My own #longcovid coach today suggested I have #therapy so I can start dropping my #mask in closed spaces and "stop feeling anxious" 🤯 🤦🏽

Three Years Later, Covid-19 Is Still a Health Threat. Journalism Needs to Reflect That | Nieman Reports

Too much coverage minimizes the health risks researchers attribute to the virus

@sheislaurence I've never heard of a professional "covid coach," and now I know there actually isn't such a thing, if yours is an example of one.

I can be a better covid coach right now: Stay masked in public if you want to have a better chance of not getting a covid infection.

@batyalee @unchartedworlds there is a single #longcovid program in the UK to support patients, it's a partnership with a private gym chain. It's mostly about progressive exercise, understanding #pacing & fatigue triggers. We also talk about nutrition, sleep etc...That aspect is good, but these #physios are clearly not trained in the basic characteristics of #sarscov2 such as the impact of #reinfections
@sheislaurence Thank you for responding in a much more nuanced and polite manner than I did to you. I hope you continue to heal and get better.
