Day 1 of working on my #PeerTube app for iOS/Android. Currently using #Flutter to develop the app and enjoying it.

THANKYOU for working on this! #Peertube desperately needs a dedicated app. Currently I just use #Fedilab with a list for Peertube channels I want to subscribe to, but it's not a great solution.

Hoping you'll add #SepiaSearch for discovery, #Fdroid releases and #UnifiedPush notifications. 🤞

What would be 🔥next-level🔥 though would be the option to have your phone able to seed as well (probably only when it's connected to power+wifi).

For the moment though, happy to just sub+watch!

@Blort Thank you for the suggestions! I for sure want to integrate #SepiaSearch and will look into it.

I for sure want to make it as user friendly as possible and easy to discover content across instances.

@mikey Awesome. I have experience with #Design and #UX, so feel free to HMU if there's anything I can do to help.

Speaking of which, a rough idea for a potential logo went through my head looking at your gif and the colors. It's based on the concept of peers supporting playback. It only took 2-3 minutes to throw together, so feel free to take or leave it, as you wish. 😉 Happy to polish / modify if desired.

#Peertube #Design

@Blort I already like this direction! If I tweak it or ask for any UX advice, I'll be sure to credit you!

@Blort Until the new app launches: If it's just about subscriptions and downloads, you can also subscribe to #Peertube channels via NewPipe:
"#NewPipe currently supports these services:
YouTube and YouTube Music
PeerTube
Bandcamp
SoundCloud
media.ccc.de "

However, it is not possible to comment on, like or share the videos.

Then there are some other apps like TubeLab , but I have no experience with them.

Thanks @caos . I tried #NewPipe. It... kinda works, and would be my second choice after #Fedilab with a list. That said it's quite difficult to subscribe across more than one instance and as you point out there's no interaction (or push notifications). I tried #TubeLab and #Thorium, but both are dead now.

#Fedilab, while far from perfect at least lets me find, watch, subscribe, comment, like videos and get push notifications by #UnifiedPush. Discovery, dislike and #UX are still issues.
