"It is NOT protable (uses 386 task switching etc), and it probably never will support anything other than AT-harddisks, as thatโ€™s all I have :-(."
That's cute. Happy 32nd birthday to Linux! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽˆ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅ‚
@dosnostalgic also hilarious in retrospect: "won't be <snip> professional like gnu"
@dosnostalgic and by the end of the 90s it had practically killed Sun!
@dosnostalgic Cute, but not likely to go anywhere since the future is RISC. I've got my eye on the platforms of tomorrow, like the DEC Alpha coming out soon!
@indigoparadox @dosnostalgic RISC architecture is gonna change everything.

@steve @indigoparadox @dosnostalgic It already is changing a lot.

My soldering iron (Pinecil v1) has a RISC-V core, and i really wanted to try the 0x64 devboard (4$ RV64I heterogeneous devboard with a LOT of stuff) but the toolchain is kinda bad last time i checked.

I'd love to have rust running on it

@dosnostalgic Let's go back to Minix, on my Atari ST !
@occitel @dosnostalgic tried that and stared "clueless at the prompt"
@rjlegault @dosnostalgic
did you try root/root or root/minix or even the famous root/[enter]

@dosnostalgic I guess this one aged well, don't you think @torvalds ?
