Ok I’ve spent all day making this Solarpunk playlist which captures the vibes of the apocalypse with the hopes of building a sustainable tomorrow. Mix of genres, tracks chosen to match the theme. Overall the message is one of hope and inspiring action, but with the grit of truth and anger. You can listen on shuffle, or, I’ve arranged them in a rough order to tell a story (ordering needs polish tho). Listening to these songs today was cathartic and energizing.

Making some tweaks to this list today.

(Finally remembered Kids — MGMT which since yesterday I couldn’t remember anything about it except the vibe. It came up while I was listening to my covers playlist so yay!)

Going to tweak track order a bit (while listening in order from the top), and I might think of some additions. I don’t want to clutter it; each track needs to bring something specific. I might also adjust the title somewhat to be less generic but will keep Solarpunk in there.

This was a nice creative activity this weekend, but also it left me feeling… changed.

I settled on a name for the main playlist, Solarpunk Mixtape. It takes a listener thru specific emotions and thoughts in order. I will keep the story it tells tight and concise. Link above.

But I kept thinking of new songs related to the solarpunk vibe, plus the tracks I love that didn’t make the cut for the main playlist…

So I created a second “Director’s Cut” playlist called Solarpunk Landfill [renamed Solarpunk Abundance] where I can drop any song that vibes of solarpunk, even if it doesn’t fit into the story. I have roughly dropped the new tracks where they might fit in the original story, but haven’t taken as great a care. I will continue to add to this new list in perpetuity, but probably won’t sort it much after today.

I will start a new thread soon asking for suggestions (new thread to prevent clutter). Please hold off for now if you can because I’ll get overwhelmed with tracking the notifications.
