Cute cozy (Can include zombies) video games to play with a partner?
Currently on our list:
- Stardew Valley
- Minecraft
We like creating spaces and the survival aspect, so those two should be a great fit.
We have one Windows laptop, a MacOS laptop, a Steam Deck, and a PS5. With lack of cross-play or just one device unsupported altogether this can limit our options 😩
We did play Dysmantle a bit, which is fantastic. The split-screen experience... not so much.
You might try #vintagestory - it has a strong resemblance to Minecraft* but goes for its very own esthetic, with a lot of detailed textures for rock, wood, flowers, animals, and edibles. Plus some dark lovecraftian influence.
Quickest way to get a good impression are the videos from @Ashantin.
*The game had a proof of concept implemented as a total conversion of TFC, which itself was a modpack for Minecraft.
The game now has its very own game in C#/dotnet.
Oh wow, just checked the website and that looks amazing! I've never heard of this before but what I saw on the websites trailer looks very much something we'd be interested in.

I thought this was an interesting question.
Game engine. Its very own *game engine*.
Looked into it a bit more, looks like it might be a bit tricky to get working on MacOS / Apple Silicon which is what I would be aiming for ideally (The Windows laptop is my partners) but perhaps I can get somewhere with it on Steam Deck and their Linux version 😊 Something to try in the coming weeks, even with Crossover or something.
The dotnet7 runtime has downloads for ARM64, which should cover the Apple silicon?

We no longer officially support MacOS due multiple compatibility issues, but we will keep shipping a mac os build for the forseeable future nonetheless. If you want to play on macOS, feel free to try it out, and request a refund if it doesn't work."
