We're blowing off the ruffians who tried to get us to go with them to "fight a giant," in favor of getting a night's rest and resuming our quest to Dead Eyes Cave in hopes of finding another piece of the statuette.

The barbarian rather wanted to fight a giant, but not that badly. Chances were good they actually intended to rob us.
