Well, would you look at that...It's #fungifriday, folks!

I <3 Turkey Tails. No matter what time of year, even long after it seems they've died, they often roar back to life with just a little rain.

@briankrebs those things are really good for you, but taste like you're eating sawdust
@Viss I admire mushrooms, but from afar. I don't very much enjoy eating them, and frankly the idea of foraging for my own is terrifying. I'd rather take up skydiving.
@briankrebs its not super intuitive up front, but you can get the hang of it. theres a mushroom farm a mile from me and they sell 'fruiting bags' you can buy - just cut a hole and mushrooms grow out of the hole. suuuuper easy. its pretty rewarding too, dropping 20 bux on a spawn bag of lions mane, and producing ~$100 worth trivially when its ~$20-25 per pound at the store.
@briankrebs Trametes versicolor. I like them, too.
@briankrebs It's not Friday yet, but check out this newly discovered mushroom in Taiwan. Crazy small and crazy gorgeous https://chaos.social/@vegetables/111101670254088240
