"#Reduce, #Reuse, #Recycle" We forgot the most important word in that Reduce.

Reusing is good. Why have plastic cutlery when you can clean meatal knives and forks.

Recycling encourages more consumption as people think they can do their bit by putting the plastic cutlery in the recycling bin. We know that most of the stuff in the recycling bin never gets recycled. A lot of it gets sent straight to landfill. Increasingly in other countries in the global south.

Reducing the use of resources is part of #degrowth We have to find ways to use less resources. Reuse and recycling some into that too. Turning swords into ploughshares for a start.

If reducing the use of "#LabourSaving" #technology means things require a lot more human effort that's good in my book. Therre are going to be hundreds of millions if not billions of #climate #refugees who will need to find some way of making some money. If a job is backbreaking labour its better than starving to death.

@robcornelius

I use the things up to their end.
Yes, I have plastic boxes. I put one to the litter, when it is too broken to use.
When I really need a new one, I get bamboo oder metal, or whatever.
I have some Weck glasses for storing stuff in the fridge or for jam/sauces ...Some of my metal bowls are 28 years old.
When I buy vegatables or jam in glasses, I reuse the glass or give it to friends for their stuff.
Once a week, we go to a farm shop in the near surrounding, we buy local things.
