Always helpful to note that we’ve had 46 U.S. Presidents, and they’ve been indicted on a total of 91 felony charges. Here’s how it breaks down:

1-44: 0
45: 91
46: 0

@Strandjunker So the top 10 candidates for the current Republican nomination for President have an average of 9.1 felony charges each.
@dkmcf @Strandjunker If the other 9 think 91 is no big deal, it's kind of fair that they all be tarred with the same brush.
@Strandjunker GW Bush's DWI was a misdemeanor and years before his presidency. Ulysses S. Grant was arrested for speeding while president (in a horse and carriage). Andrew Jackson was jailed by the British during the revolution, which is kind of a big deal but also laudable. But these felony indictments are in a totally different league than anything we've seen.
@Strandjunker the fact that 43 is at 0 is an embarrassment
@Strandjunker you are averaging over 2 federal indictments per president.
@Strandjunker Nixon would have been if Ford hadn’t pardoned him. Both Republicans.
@Strandjunker
As at August 15, 2023. There may be more indicments coming.
@Strandjunker one other would have been but his gop vice pres, immediately granted him a pardon to avoid a lifetime in jail for him.
@Thebratdragon @Strandjunker Is that the one where they were a new VP because the previous one had resigned as part of a deal not to be charged for bribery etc?
@Strandjunker And, sadly, strangely, I don't have words, there are many who would look at these numbers and say, "Just what I expected. They persecuted Jesus too."😵
@Strandjunker For Qpublicans math is hard

@Strandjunker

Playing catch up, I guess.
Trump's raised the average to two per President and Nixon gets the additional fractional leftovers as a booby prize since he skipped out before they could charge him.

@Strandjunker to be fair, Chester A Arthur should have been indicted. The bastard.

@Strandjunker

Because:

Ford pardoned Nixon
GHWB pardoned those in the Iran-Contra scandal who might have testified against him or Reagan
Obama chose to "look forward, not back" regarding torture and other GWB war crimes.

Arguably, the lack of past accountability lead to the sense of impunity today.

@Strandjunker Waiting for his supporters to voice the argument that on average each president has two indictments so they're hardly pure as the driven snow and he's always said he's above average.

@Strandjunker

Let's not forget that Nixon, Reagan, and Shrub should have been brought up on charges.

@Strandjunker

This is hilarious!!🤣🤣

Jamie

@Strandjunker I mean 43 of them weren't a subject to public security on the internet. 35 didn't have black people voting, and 30 of them didn't get women's votes either. So...
@Strandjunker A couple of vice presidents also got into trouble. Let’s not forget that Aaron Burr was tried for treason. Yes, he was acquitted, but still . . .
@Strandjunker @soatok A friend said it best: A lot of war criminals are getting off easy here. Also slave owners. I get the point you're trying to make tho.

@Strandjunker

Trump is plain dangerous. He should never ever be allowed near public office again.
