@kangaroo5383 Not my domain tbh. As far as I can tell, the benefits are all related to economic power. Deeper pockets for financing, marketing, and distribution.
Indies are primarily vanity projects of wealthy producers, or student projects, and only occasionally make enough sales to break. There's a fearsome oligopoly on the retail side (the streaming platforms).
@opendna yeah i’m curious how it all works bc “effective” entertainment really drives culture and values of a society (recently been down the rabbithole of chinese drama and tried to deconstruct and compare social norms etc loll)
Also some writers are just epically phenomenal, it’d be a shame if others of that caliber never got a voice… also lastly if maybe some parallel from VC/startup/angel world that could be helpful here.. despite well known issues there too.. 🧐🤔
