Hiked two trails for the first time this morning on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. First was Hamilton Mountain. Upper Rodney Falls looked awesome predawn. The trail was very well maintained with lots of bridges and stairs. Made it a loop and came
back on the Hardy Creek trail.

After Hamilton Mountain, I climbed the 105 year old trail blasted into the side of Beacon Rock. This 1.5 mile hike was extremely cool. Switchbacks with wooden planked bridges and metal handrails pretty much the whole way up. Great views of the Columbia River Gorge.

@andrewbriscoe It is cool. Is that the Bonneville in the background?
@KengOnTheRoad Looks like Bonneville is behind the Pierce National Wildlife Refuge.
@andrewbriscoe I'm afraid of heights. That route would be scary for me.
@KissAnne Completely understandable! I wish the bridges hadn’t been built so long ago.

@andrewbriscoe I love this trail. My first time on it, the hills across the river were dusted with snow (and the trail had snow and ice on top). Made it even more pretty.

But I especially love that shot down to on switchbacks.

@lkanies Thank you! It was a fun little trail. Want to go back on a clear day.
@andrewbriscoe beautiful! I have a bad fear of heights, not sure I could climb that one. 😬😉🤣🤣
@andrewbriscoe that looks absolutely terrifying
@andrewbriscoe Nice, how’s the smoke?
@gglockner Luckily no smoke down here. 🙂
@andrewbriscoe breathtaking 😍
I'm so in awe of the beauty you see daily!
❤️❤️🙌🙌
Huh, I've never seen this before. What a cool historical trail!
@andrewbriscoe I find it hard to believe there are any trails in the PNW you haven’t hiked yet Andrew😂 tho I am reminded the outdoors are quite vast. It looks wonderful!
