I think all the time about the reddit guy who was so broken by gendering toilet habits that he spent his life taking uncomfortable dumps.
@stavvers of all the things that didn't happen etc etc
@brecht I fully believe it tbh, men really get weird about toilet seats
@stavvers But then how to spend 30min sitting down to read on an uncomfortable toilet?
@brecht my poor dude almost definitely never met the joy of a lengthy dump scrolling through every app
@stavvers
only a matter of time before all the gents toilets are replaced by a hole in the ground
@floppyplopper litter trays for men
@stavvers
It's the most viable defence against upper decking
@floppyplopper @stavvers China already beat us to it :(

@nopnop @stavvers
France had holes in the ground when I was there 30 years ago.

I have excellent calves and hamstrings so I'm quite eager to have a go on one of these.

@nopnop @floppyplopper @stavvers oh we call these Arabian toilets here in Egypt, they might be found in odd places like eerie gas stations and in farm cities, I really them (but I probably hate urinals more).
@stavvers wasn't there a guy as well, who did not wipe his but because going between the cheeks is gay or something
@number137 the worst thing is, there have been *several* of them
@stavvers FFS ?!?
@number137 @stavvers Some guys won't masturbate because they think touching a dick, even their own, is gay, so this totally follows.
@stavvers my face just made an expression I've no idea how to describe
@stavvers toilets are one of the weird things that we don't get regular training on. much like walking... it's mostly figure that crap on your own and the struggle with guessing if you're doing it wrong for the rest of your life. Does my head in... why didn't my schools have modules on these topics?! see also 'sex' i guess. hahahaha. I know I'm not telling *you* anything you don't know but I struggle to not comment on this stuff.
@cat @stavvers I mean, I know lots of children have crappy parents/guardians, but in my universe everyone seems to understand that how to use a toilet is something parents/guardians teach their kids.
@jik @stavvers how many competent parents have you met?! Weโ€™re all just children in longer clothes!
@cat @stavvers I mean, there's generalized competence, and then there's "at least competent enough to teach a kid how to poop on a toilet." I am definitely a mediocre parent, but this much, at least, I was able to do for our kids.
@stavvers fair play to him for admitting it, I say!

@stavvers

The toilet seat vs. rim thing is one thing, but also does this guy not put the lid down before he flushes???

Does he not know about the "toilet plume" ????

@stavvers

Well, at least he was right in the feeling that he may be alone in this.

@stavvers also another guy that learned that he just needed a bigger toilet to poop comfortably and it only found out when the small one he had broke.
I remember that the same user posted some details of health improvements after the change.
@stavvers I feel it is legit to place some blame on whoever toilet trained this guy as a child

@stavvers
It might be amusing to notice that people can be weird AF when it comes to toilet procedures.

But I immediately feel a pang of compassion for the potty training experience that person must have had at age 2-4 that produced an adult with 'strange' ideas about using the bathroom. I'm convinced lots of the people are out there with psychological problems stemming from traumatic potty training experiences.

Add a dose of toxic masculine terror about toilet seats and you get this example.

@stavvers there is no cup of coffee that wakes you up like sitting a warm butt on a ring of cold ceramic. That poor man!
@stavvers "Real men butt hover" certainly is... a position...
@stavvers He was sitting on the bowl in public restrooms? I don't know what women's public restrooms are like but hard, hard, hard pass on doing that in a men's public restroom. Even with the seat I'm essentially cleaning the area before using it.
@stavvers
Does your species not teach your young to care for themselves before they become adults?
@PixelRefresh @stavvers Not really, it's pretty much "sea turtle" rules. I'm honesty surprised more of us aren't devoured by passing predators.
@stavvers There are a surprising number of men who refuse to wipe themselves after defectating, use a bidet, or even wash their bottoms when bathing, because they believe that will make them gay.
@stavvers
When you're done you flush and drop your bum down like a bidet
