When I was a kid, I LOVED Pee-wee Herman. The movie, the TV show… I even had the pajamas.

When I was 9, he was suddenly taken from us all, far too soon. I didn't know much about the story, but even then, it seemed like insufficient justification for what happened.

He suffered more punishment than he deserved for an imperfect life.

And now, he has once again been taken from us all, far too soon.

RIP, Paul Reubens. Thank you for my childhood memories.

@marcoarment I am astonished to learn he was 70!
@marcoarment Between him and O’Connor it's been a shit week for people who were treated far worse by society than they deserved.

@marcoarment I mean he essentially deserved a slap on the wrist from the business he was in. He had his dick out in an adult theatre, and as far as I know wasn’t like, sexually assaulting another patron.

Of course it was the 90s so even visiting an establishment related to sex in any way would’ve been game over.

In 2023, this guy still has a job: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/katienotopoulos/blippi-youtube-kids-star-harlem-shake-poop (which, I guess he should? He’s a beloved kid entertainer who made some shock content before he was famous)

Before he was Blippi, a Mister Rogers for the YouTube age, he was Steezy Grossman, and he pooped on his friend.

@marcoarment I found out today that Pee-Wee (the character) was invented by Paul Reubens and Phil Hartmann. Another one that left us far too soon.
