I'm curious how many folks on Mastodon still use Twitter/X.
Boosts appreciated so I can get a better sense.

@geographile I hear ya!
My guess is that the people on Twitter have already formed strong opinions about Musk. Like people have already formed strong opinions about Trump. People who are uninformed and undecided about either Musk or Trump at this point are a puzzle!
@jennyzilliac Not only did I leave twitter, but I block all their sites using pihole on a raspberry pi.

@stw I deleted my account sometime back. This is the first time I am hearing of bots taking over deleted accounts.
I guess I don't see Twitter as a place that I need to invest emotional energy in. I don't see it as a place with a future. I don't care what happens there anymore because it's passed the point of no return. So I don't care about bots using my account.
Of course I could be wrong! Ya never know!
@jennyzilliac I still use Twitter daily. I love Mastodon, but most of my activity on Twitter was following news from my own curated lists, and Mastodon simply doesn't have these people there.
I definitely feel more comfortable engaging people here though, I refrain from posting there because of how toxic the community feels.
@jennyzilliac I have stopped posting anything there.
I still regularly get pointers towards it, but if I then go there I have to schedule some time afterwards to ‘cool down’, the content on Twitter and the shitstorm of adds and ‘recommended’ posts agitates me and leaves me upset even though I know in advance what I can expect.
@jennyzilliac I still use the other place, though I have started to cut down how often I go there.
There's just too many asleep righties, that I don't follow, in my timeline, for my liking.
I can't tick any of your options. Twitter is still there, like a dodgy relative at the party, sat in the corner drinking itself to sleep. Knows some useful stuff, talks to some important people, but you wouldn't want to take them to your kids' school event...
@ChaskaTheMagicDog I was doing something similar for a while. When I deleted my account, it was a relief.
I'm thankful for Mastodon. I feel like I'm gaining good traction here. I like it here a lot.
