I was somewhat aware of Sagrada Família’s exterior, even if I under-appreciated the scale of the building.

Nothing prepared me for the interior.
Jaw-dropping.
And it simply does not reproduce in photos. Every photo I took, on my latest-model iPhone or my fancy Sony camera, utterly pale in comparison to being there.

@Graham_LRR What might boggle your minds even more is that while they've been building it for some 140 years, they realised in 2019 that it had never gotten a building permit.

They quickly fixed that, but, y'know... still!

@Graham_LRR Absolutely the same. So much more bright and colourful than I'd ever imagined, absolutely incredible. I came in with pretty big expectations, but they got absolutely demolished all the same.

(Also, I think I JUST barely missed you guys there 😅)

@Jondare Ha, no way. See you at the con though?

@Graham_LRR Yeah I was there from 12:30 till around 16, so was probably exiting through the gift shop when you guys entered 😅

Definitely! Sadly missed the signup for the Chaos event, but I've got some danish candy to unload 😁

@Graham_LRR Are those lights on the columns? There are so many colors it's incredible!
@Foxmar @Graham_LRR no, they're windows. It's all natural light coming in.
@Atridas @Graham_LRR Thats what I expected due to the buildings age. It's stunning.
@Foxmar No! There’s no lights, it’s all sunlight through the stained glass!
@Graham_LRR It's absolutly beautiful! The way the colors blend together as well. A+
@Foxmar @Graham_LRR This was my attempt at a collage of the same shot a few years ago when I went

@Graham_LRR As a local, it took me decades to get inside. Because why bother.

I'm still in awe. Most beautiful thing man ever made.

@Graham_LRR they're letting people inside now? I'm so jealous. I was there years ago but because of construction you couldn't go in.
@Graham_LRR Had to reread several times. parsed as 'Sigarda'
@Holir_ Good old familiar Sigarda.
Literally one of my Commanders, I’m glad the autocorrect isn’t goofing me on this.
@Graham_LRR Yeah it’s absolutely stunning. Truly magical inside. The windows in particular, the play of light. Certainly one of the greatest buildings in the world.

@Graham_LRR

Now I have to go, somehow, because this photo is pretty jaw dropping.

@Graham_LRR Oh yeah, been doing photography for decades, and it's an impossible space to capture the feel of. They are literarily building a mountain in the middle of the city.
@Graham_LRR Visited here last December unrelated to Magic, and it really was stunning. The attached museum detailing the long history of the construction was fascinating too. Definitely a highlight of visiting the city.
@Xandor The attached WHAT?
I didn’t see this signposted at all 😭

@Graham_LRR I think it was just to the left of the exit stairs from the main cathedral. Kinda easy to miss if you’re not taking an audio tour.

@Graham_LRR Good Lord.

I wonder what it's like to sing in there, or hear music. If Gaudi sculpted sound like he's clearly sculpted light, it must be incredible.

@Graham_LRR That is amazing and I am jealous.

@Graham_LRR

A masterpiece beyond compare!

@Graham_LRR I visited Sagrada Familia for a class trip over 20 years ago and I still cherish the memory. Climbing the towers was both breathtaking and terrifying!
@Graham_LRR I am thoroughly jelly. That's also an awesome pic!
@Graham_LRR the sagrada familia is a utter masterpiece of beauty and madness. The story behind its design and construction is wild.
