My #books are 85% #library and 15% buying.I #read fast and I read a lot so buying titles would break me financially. HOWEVER, I'm discovering a lot of new to me authors (like #CathyYardley) who are on #KindleUnlimited. (I pre-ordered and am reading #RolePlaying about two middle aged people (she's 48 and he's 50) who meet and fall in love. ALSO, #queer representation!) As much as I hate to put money in Amazon's coffers, I'm not opposed for a "paying" library.

I know financially it's better to support buying the books direct as the author gets paid per page on #KindleUnlimited (last I knew) but I just can't swing it. Also, I don't typically read a book more than once (see #library) and using Kindle Unlimited makes sense. Now to get through my #TBR pile... @bookstodon #books #reading #AmReading

Try #Scribd if you want to #BoycottBezos and have a paid library. Great selection of reading material for a very affordable price.
@EllenInEdmonton @bookstodon I used to use Scribd back ye olden days when I was an academic librarian and didn't care for the service. Also, a lot of the books were illegal content. Dunno if that's changed but the authors I want to read are NOT on Scribd or don't have all their books (I checked for a few). I have yet to see an #indieauthor support Scribd. I'm already tied to the Kindle eco system via my libraries who use Overdrive to disseminate eBooks to Kindle which is handy as hell.
