There is nothing sadder in the world than a dog who arrives just as you've eaten very last bit of your snack
@scalzi They're certainly good at making you believe that.
@scalzi That look of disbelief followed by all the sniffing and rooting around for crumbs.
@scalzi "My... LAST HOPE! My DREAMS! GONE. Gone. I... I'm going to die, unloved, unmourned... I'll never ea...oh look a BALL!"
@scalzi if you could power the world with sad eyes, these moments would banklrupt oil companies
@scalzi I always keep back a bit of butter for the cat if she is away
@scalzi They can still smell you had a snack and hope you'll hork it up for them, but they know you will not be doing that. v_v
@scalzi When they arrive just as I put the last bite in my mouth and I take a bit out to share. Don't tell anyone.
@scalzi They don't want that chocolate I'm eating...they really don't...
@scalzi Did she drool on you?
@scalzi My view as I was reading this.
@scalzi I've conditioned myself, or been conditioned, to never eat my last bite. When he's not around I'm always happy to get a little extra at the end! Pic related.
@scalzi Dogs refuse to recognize the private ownership of food
@scalzi we lost our boy a month ago, and I still find myself leaving the last bite for him. Then eat it and get sad again.
