“It sure is funny that the CEO of a business based on serving ads to an audience that is 99.8% non-subscribers is saying that any metrics including those numbers are untrustworthy and shouldn’t be counted! Wonder how the advertisers feel about this!” https://www.zenofdesign.com/in-which-elon-pays-people-to-be-his-friend/
In Which Elon Pays People To Be His Friend – Zen Of Design

@taylorlorenz just a tip: when Elon says revenues dropped 50%, you can be sure it was much more than that. He is a serial liar

@taylorlorenz Odd that the same guy changed Twitter's API effectively killing services that identify bots.

Botometer by OSoMe

Botometer® (formerly BotOrNot) checks the activity of Twitter accounts and gives them a score based on how likely they are to be bots. Higher scores are more bot-like. Brought to you by the Observatory on Social Media (OSoMe) at Indiana University.

@taylorlorenz
I pay much more attention to the ads now that Elon owns Twitter.

I make a point of going there once a week and criticizing the advertisers for supporting a fash-friendly platform.

I never used to pay attention to the ads before Musk. I guess this is how he does 4D chess and shows us how big-brained he is?

@Jeramee @taylorlorenz I don’t use that garbage app especially since he made it must have an account to read anything, but I’m guessing the kind of advertisers there now are like those at Fox News - miracle pills, gold scams, end of world suppliers, preachers etc. and the morons Elon appeals to are their only customers, so they don’t care.

@RodneyPetersonTalent @taylorlorenz

I don't blame you for not using it.

I work in SE Asia, so I see mostly ads from Chinese companies. It seems that they are unaware of Musk's fascist behavior, so I try to help them learn.

@taylorlorenz

"Elon Musk’s reign running Twitter has been a cavalcade of failure ever since he walked into Twitter HQ carrying a sink, "

It was a bathroom sink. He failed to make a coherent practical pun as his kickoff. This was prescient.

@RnDanger
Honestly I've never been sure what the pun was supposed to be (which I guess reinforces your point) - he said 'let that sink in', but I also heard variations on 'sinking feeling,' 'kitchen sink' & 'down the drain'.
@FeralRobots
Maybe it's the "covfefe" of practical punnery 🙃
@RnDanger
I think he does a lot of that, just either blurting stuff out & retconning it as a joke, or throwing a bunch of shit out there & mugging until people laugh.
@RnDanger also I shouldn't miss the chance to promote one of the more underrated caper-comedies of all time, _That Sinking Feeling_.
