#FPQuestion of the day:
Have you “penabled” someone you know IRL? How did it go?
#FountainPens
@penfount multiple co-workers who still don’t know about my double life. “How do you know so much about pens?” “Oh, I just collect them!” 😂
@penfount A co-worker was fascinated by my pens, so I gave her one of the Pilot Varsitys I keep in my desk for just such an occasion. She love writing with it and has started working her way up toward more expensive pens.
@penfount I keep a stash of shark pens, mini note pads and sample ink in little kits. So when people ask, if they seem like a good candidate- I can just whip one out, and boom. Get 'em hooked. Or at least try. Lol. Got one of the girls at my chiropractor that way, then she got her husband and now they are working on their gaming group. Glorious.
@penfount My favorite was my wife. She signed a letter with one of my #fountainpens and almost immediately said, “I prefer my ballpoint.” She uses the cheapest of ballpoints and wields them with might, carving words into paper as if into solid stone.
@penfount I bought my wife a Waterman Carene as one of her gifts for our anniversary and she fell in love with it, and uses it almost exclusively. She really loves showing it off and how smoothly it writes.

@penfount I have a friend who is Romanian, and it's normal to use fountain pens in school there, so when I met her she was still using a cheap and unreliable kids' pen. She decided it was time to upgrade and I gave her my TWSBI Eco 🙂

Most of the time people try my pens and immediately say "nope, not for me!"

@penfount I like that so many people do this "penabling" thing. Fountain pens are eco friendly and cost efficient (…if you write a lot) so it's a nice thing to be evangelical about
@penfount I’m in the process! One of my daughter’s friends expressed an interest in fountain pens so I’m sending him a care package with a Diplomat Magnum, some Diamine ink, some filling/cleaning supplies and a little journal with good paper. I can’t wait to hear back from him.
