I’m in full support of the SAG/AFRA and WGA and I love Ron Pearlman’s comment here.
As a jobbing actor my residuals for the last year for all the shows I’m in that have made a LOT of money for the streaming platforms they’re on came to around £35. my annual residuals from one of the most popular shows on Netflix came to the same price as I’d have got for 1 DVD box set sold.

@benjamincox thank you, I’m not even in SAG as my work’s all UK based so I’m in Equity, but it effects us all right across the industry no matter where we are geographically. If residuals for streaming worked the same as they do for TV broadcasting I’d have been able to afford a house from the jobs I’ve done rather than stuck renting

@BethanyBlack I think the real walk away moment from me was the fact that I have only ever tried to give everyone the best deal possible working on any of my tv series and movies and I got betrayed by a bunch of crew and actors and writers in favor of Elon Musk.

@BethanyBlack I’d be interested to know what the deal is with video games. Ron Pearlman has voiced in 37 according to the IMDB. Do actors get a one off payment for that work or by sales? Also, the gaming industry is worth far more than the movie industry so does doing video games pay more?

@BethanyBlack I stand with the writers and actors. I know from music streaming it's crap pay compared to purchasing the record on Bandcamp (which is now part of Epic Games and who knows what that'll do). I think I get around $100 a year from streams, on a good year.
