Elon Musk’s own employees prefer Threads to Twitter: “It’s just better” https://www.thedailybeast.com/elon-musks-twitter-employees-are-using-mark-zuckerbergs-threads
Elon Musk’s Twitter Employees Are Using Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads

A random sampling of Twitter workers showed nearly a quarter were on the new app—and some were publicly praising it.

@taylorlorenz if only there was a way to read the article in a mobile phone 😑
@Deeso @taylorlorenz That's like asking for Threads to be available somewhere else besides a mobile phone. Or an I-Pad...🙄

@taylorlorenz from my own experience in working in software orgs, I've found that when using a competing app I tend to focus on what's better. You know the bugs, oddities, and bits you don't like when you work on something every day for years.

It's handy to see what someone else is doing and how to improve.

Seems like they might be experiencing that?

@taylorlorenz Wait til they try Mastodon...
@mastodonmigration @taylorlorenz There’s also the macaw.social which is for previous and current Twitter employees. 🙂
Taliban Leader Endorses Elon Musk’s Twitter Over New Rival Threads

“Twitter doesn’t have an intolerant policy like Meta,” Anas Haqqani, the scion of feared terrorist group the Haqqani Network, wrote Monday.

@taylorlorenz Why does everyone love handing everything over to Zuckerberg?
@Shadeprint @taylorlorenz “Everyone” might be a stretch, but yes, disproportionally yes. Awareness of privacy implications isn’t strong enough.
@Shadeprint @taylorlorenz it’s like we’ve learned absolutely nothing, but I’m happy to see musk tanking
@Shadeprint @taylorlorenz didju see that text thread from back in college where zuck calls his users morons for sharing their personal info with his website?
@bgrinter @taylorlorenz Neat trick holding the play icon beteen your lip and nose, but it's kinda inappropriate
@taylorlorenz Having recently joined both Mastodon & Threads, after having been a Twitter user for some time, I have to say that I greatly prefer Mastodon between the three. #cursed #contrarian
@grtmnick @taylorlorenz me too. I have Threads and Mastodon, but the conversations in Mastodon seem to have more in depth and interesting topics. Threads is more about companies and influencers and marketing. Meh. I don’t need new fancy underwear or cell phone accessories.

@taylorlorenz @mastodonmigration do you people understand how disgraceful Musk got, to a point we're cheering for Mark fucking Zuckerberg??

This world is really crazy.

@tigerjerusalem @taylorlorenz @mastodonmigration None of that irony is lost on me. But I'm loving this environment where there are so many social media platforms you can sign up for (or not). Why limit myself?
@toxtethogrady @taylorlorenz @mastodonmigration I agree with you, I just find this situation hilarious.
@taylorlorenz
“This is what happens when a powerful person lives in an echo chamber of their own creation.”
☝️ #this!

@taylorlorenz Pride goes before a fall.
@PirateJoie @taylorlorenz i heard this at church one time so its probably BS
@ARCANON @taylorlorenz I heard it from the Beatles, so maybe it’s not! “I’m A Loser”, “And so it’s true, pride goes before a fall, I’m telling you, so that you don’t lose all” - John Lennon (who probably also heard it in church, in which he didn’t believe, either)
@taylorlorenz It's not a hostile work culture, for one thing...
@taylorlorenz Where’s the fast-forward button?!?!

@taylorlorenz

😆

Wait until they find out about Mastodon...

@taylorlorenz
To be fair, however bad Threads is, for a Twitter employee it at least comes without the PTSD response they must feel every time they see Elon's smug dumb face next to some crazy horseshit that is going to become their problem later that day.
@taylorlorenz better at what? More random stuff on the feed? I want to like threads, but it's not a substitute for Twitter or Mastodon. Without focus news and politics yet, I don't see any value added here.
@taylorlorenz probably helps when the person in charge isn’t trying to destroy core functionality of the service
@taylorlorenz
I'm sorry there's no way this is real threads doesn't even support hashtags or a following feed
