@mleveck A comparison of users' personal data collected by Threads, Twitter, Bluesky, Mastodon, Spill, and Hive Social, based on information from Apple's App Store (Reece Rogers/Wired)

The analogy might be unintentionally accurate, in the sense that my experience with a group of people deciding "let's play a video game" is that two people get to play, and the rest get to watch.
(No I haven't played video games in 10 years. Maybe there are games nowadays that 8-16 people can play simultaneously, in the same room, watching the same screen?)
@mleveck To be honest I am more surprised that people using a system that from the core up is designed not to be like big IT companies are surprised that a large chunk of the users doesn't like big IT companies.
Feels like being surprised that a begging for beer money, Anarcho punk thinks it's stupid if Madonna dresses herself up as a punk.
@mleveck Sorry but I consider your point of view as inaccurate.
Most of mastodon users who criticize threads don't consider the first as en elite or exclusive tool, but just don't trust meta, especially for private life protection and fearing the well known "embrass, extend, extinguish" strategy.
