I was today years old when I learned you can take iPad screenshots by dragging your finger from the bottom left bezel towards the middle of the screen. 📸
@BasicAppleGuy I guarantee that a majority of users learn about that feature by accidentally taking a dragged screenshot 🙃
@BasicAppleGuy I use this gesture all the time with the Apple Pencil. It's great for quick annotations and then sending off via a message or email.
@BasicAppleGuy Had to hunt for the setting to turn on for finger swipes (I think I disabled the quick note at some point because I kept accidentally bringing it up). Pretty cool, and definitely something I can use.
@BasicAppleGuy Learned this completely accidentally when I first got my M2 Pro. Surprisingly useful.

@BasicAppleGuy No idea about that either! I was just trying to take a screenshot on my iPad with the top and volume buttons and it wasn’t working. Used the finger drag tip you shared and it worked first try.

Thanks for sharing!

@BasicAppleGuy is there a way to disable this? Annoys every time I want to swipe back and do it from the corner.
@sashk i think it’s from apple pencil settings
@potatoDOTzip interesting. Thing is I don’t have pencil ;) but thanks, will look.
@BasicAppleGuy Game-changer on the iPad mini (A15), where button-chord screenies are a pain. I love this so much.
@BasicAppleGuy Cropping after is kinda buggy!
@BasicAppleGuy I keep accidentally activating it when I want to swipe back.
@BasicAppleGuy I literally did this by accident a few days ago and made the startled realization. I was familiar with the similar pencil motion that has existed for a while, though.
@BasicAppleGuy oh so that’s what happened. I thought some buttons got stuck in the protective case.
@BasicAppleGuy I remember finding it by accident within the last 6 months. I was so surprised. I did it a few times just to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind.
@BasicAppleGuy not working for me…
@cwagdev I think stage manager might need to be off
@BasicAppleGuy OMG, that’s awesome. Thanks.
