I love freeloaders. So freeload my book, please! No, seriously, grab a free copy and learn to automate with Ansible! https://leanpub.com/ansible-for-devops/c/CTVMPCbEeXd3

The book's text is even open source (CC BY-SA), so if you wanna republish it and make money on it, be my guest!

@geerlingguy That book looks awesome!
@geerlingguy So the day you announced this, the news was all over the many internal chats at my large, international company. Folks were very excited!
@geerlingguy I love freeloading off the Fedora community. Their work makes my lack of work so worth the effort to freeload!!!
@geerlingguy A currently unemployed person thanks you. Wanted to learn Ansible properly, and this looks great!
And thanks for all the great videos on YouTube.
@geerlingguy I felt bad about not paying you for your hard work putting this together, so I paid full price. Been meaning to learn Ansible for homelab purposes, so this is perfect timing.
@geerlingguy I've just started delving into Ansible so this toot comes at a good time for me
@geerlingguy I have seen so many of your Ansible modules being used in Open edX's deployment configuration repository. Thanks a lot for your work.

I recently set up a small cluster of 3 servers for a client and was caught between using Ansible later or running everything upfront using user-data scripts. Tools like Hashicorp packer seems to be built for with the second scenario is mind. Share some thoughts on this trend of using images and VMs as ephemeral resources rather than the old practice of setting up and managing the same servers for a period of time. No pressure, if you can't find the time to respond. :)
@geerlingguy I've had it for a while, must check revision to decide if I need to upgrade :)

@geerlingguy Question is though - if Ansible belongs to RedHat^H^H^H^H^H^HIBM then what is to prevent that Ansible also disappears behind a paywall - or even gets a toxic license change that nobody notices until it's too late?

The lack of trust in North-American companies is quickly growing.

@geerlingguy i bought this a couple years ago. learned me some good ansible from it.
@geerlingguy it makes me feel dirty to freeload off someone i like .... meh
@geerlingguy I'm leaving this reply to check this out later, when I'm not on holiday

@geerlingguy Sadly I cannot freeload. I already bought the book. I could download a bunch of additional copies, but what would that do?

I do agree, however. People should download your book and start ansibling their lives. Is that a word? Makes things a lot less repetitive.
