“Put on ice.”

Available for just 349 days, the Apple G4 Cube was discontinued less than a year after its release, selling less than 150,000 units.
@BasicAppleGuy my favorites _Iced_ cube Mac ❤️
@BasicAppleGuy what a beautiful device...
@BasicAppleGuy My all-time favourite Mac
@BasicAppleGuy Still the best looking Mac ever made.
@BasicAppleGuy @onpaperwings I was just looking on eBay past week wondering if I should get one.
@dk @mwichary @BasicAppleGuy The answer is yes. I remember seeing this for the first time and audibly gasping at the simplicity of it.

@BasicAppleGuy I <3 mine. Late father in law got one, used it for a few years, and then it went into a closet where it sat (climate controlled) for years. It fired right up when I plugged it all in and I was able to get some photos off an old Firewire 400 drive for my wife to see.

I love that cube and it came into my life at the right time. <3

@jrn 🥰 thanks for sharing
@BasicAppleGuy And I regret that I sold my Cube set up, with the displays, speakers etc. I added even a better graphics card. Such a beautiful design.
@BasicAppleGuy The Mac Studio should have been a true cube.
@BasicAppleGuy @Luke I still have one, so cool. It was too ambitious, for the hardware of the time, but I bet they could make a super functional version today.
@murtaugh @BasicAppleGuy totally agree. They were into something fantastic. A mantelpiece of tech.
@BasicAppleGuy I've still got my 500 MHz G4 Cube, purchased new in 2000. Recently refurbed with maxed out RAM, faster GPU, and SSD replacing the spinning HD.
