@Zeke @davidgerard It’s also a pretty big gamble the debt collector doesn’t have the documentation. For one you’d need to get to the point of your debt going to collections in the first place, which will hurt your credit substantially (even if it’s just in the short term assuming you win) and if they call your bluff and have the info you’re still screwed. I’d say this should only really be considered if you have, or planned, on filing for bankruptcy.
