@Norobiik The problem with letting in random refugees from a war-torn country is this:

You inevitably get some of the ****s that made the war-torn country such a hell-hole that people had to escape from there.

People who torch schools and libraries are exactly why a lot of the middle eastern countries have refugees fleeing from them. Some of those problem people came in along with the legitimate refugees.

@mike805 Something really has gone wrong with the way France integrates immigrants or people with color. You don't get this widespread level of rage and destruction unless things have been boiling hot for a long time.

This is also a byproduct of the pandemic which hit the education & job prospects of the young pretty hard. I don't think it's a coincidence that the average age of the rioters is 17.

@mike805 @Norobiik Can you provide a source for the ethnic makeup of the rioters? Though I realize it’s anecdotal the pictures I have seen, including the one above, feature fair-haired and fair-complected people.

@FightingIbex @Norobiik Most of the pictures I've seen were in the dark, and the rioters were wearing hoods and masks.

The kid who got killed was definitely an immigrant. But I would not be surprised if the local antifa and nihilist types got involved. Those people will take advantage of any opportunity to go out and wreak havoc.

Last time this happened, a couple of kids being chased by the cops jumped a fence into a power substation and got electrocuted. Not sure how that was cops' fault.

@Norobiik this doesn't happen in a just society
@liberate No, it doesn't. Unfortunately, several other countries are just like France - it just hasn't blown up for them yet.
