So after giving $3 million to his wife's already wealthy US College, in order to buy them a state-of-the-art computing lab named after him, Rishi Sunak gives a £10 raffle prize to his local state primary still struggling to replace 15-year-old computers https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/rishi-sunak-gives-10-wine-30367843
Rishi Sunak gives £10 wine to local school after $3million US college donation

The mega-rich PM who is worth more than half a billion pounds picked the cheapest wine from the House of Commons shop to donate to Leyburn Primary School in his constituency

Ugh, Rishi is such a piece of work!

@adambienkov Yes but remember he doesn’t have any working class friends.
@adambienkov it’s no great surprise that Sunak thinks he can ignore state schools - paying their teachers, maintaining their buildings, supporting mental well-being of their children, let alone ensuring more kids leave with a basic education. But is he so detached from the normal life of British people that he can’t read the optics of what he’s just done by giving his local state school the cheapest plonk from HoC shop for a raffle? Any gift would be questioned, but this was lazy.
@JugglingWithEggs @adambienkov clearly I’ve been giving this far too much thought for Sunday morning…but can you imagine a female leader signing a bottle of plonk in this way? He clearly thinks no one will drink it, because he thinks the value lies in his scrawled signature across it. Sunak believes his own hype. Local businesses will give prizes many times the value of £10 vinegar, but he thinks he is Picasso and can get away signing something that is worthless to him.

@JugglingWithEggs @adambienkov

Anoushka Sunak, 10, attends £22,000-a-year Glendower Prep in South Kensington,

Dishes prepared for her by chef Maciej Jaskulski and his team include jackfruit and butternut squash stew, teriyaki chicken with pineapple rice and sides of caramelised carrots and minted peas.

Veggie options range from smoky aubergine and sweet potato tart to gnocchi with mascarpone.

🙄

@JugglingWithEggs @adambienkov
In fairness I could imagine Liz Truss doing it. Both Truss and Sunak have wholly dislocated senses of self-importances, given that they are the emergency backup options chosen after Johnson's law breaking and congenital inability to tell the truth became too much even for the Tories to handle.
@emmatonkin @JugglingWithEggs @adambienkov
I understand they all do it. Johnson likely drunk all the bottles delivered to him for signing, whereas Truss just wasn’t there long enough to get around to the signing task.

@adambienkov

Looks like my guess was on the money :)

@adambienkov he is not commited to the UK, is he? He will be off after the election!
@adambienkov Bet he claims it on his expenses too
@adambienkov I find it funny but totally believable. I have a friend who works in the current government and they said that some of the MPs just don't understand poor people. Rich university's and private schools they get. They give millions but they are wary of poor schools . I think that must think they are poor because they waste money and don't deserve it .
@adambienkov I think he may have actually reduced the resale value by signing it. Still, it'll age better than his legacy.
@adambienkov even without the US college donation, a man of that financial worth donating a £10 bottle of wine is too embarassing.
@adambienkov He knows that no one is going to drink it if it has his name on it.
@adambienkov We know where he's going when he's kicked out of Downing St, Mr Green Card.
@adambienkov So generous. I am becoming increasingly frustrated by his stagnated approach to climate change and environmental issues.
@adambienkov Sounds par for the course.
@adambienkov he probably nicked it off the table, after a very heavily Subsidised lunch! Subsidised by us!
@adambienkov
B… b… but, I understand such a bottle of wine might fetch as much as £120 if auctioned (to an appropriate ‘constituency’) 🤔
I was gifted a bottle myself, didn’t need anymore computers. TBH, didn’t need a bottle of RS autographed wine either.
But, yes, his ‘priorities’ are misplaced.
@adambienkov Well the peons can use pretend computers. Peon A can type on the hands of peon B, isn't that great?
@adambienkov sunak is a Charlie Uniform November Tango. End Of Transmission.
@adambienkov to me the real scandal is the the PM of Britain donated $3M to somewhere not-Britain! I did a quick check, and it turns out there are British educational establishments that could use the cash! Who knew?
@adambienkov he probably thinks that all working class people aspire to own a bottle of wine.
@adambienkov what a spectacular cunt he is.
A 😠
