The usual "here's some advice to new people on #Mastodon" posts are doing the rounds.
Just a reminder, a lot of what you're posting reflects your server rules, not how the Fediverse actually works. I wish I had known to ignore most of the advice, and take one simple set:
Have fun, follow server rules, chill out, and use hashtags when you want your content found.

It's important to remember that the Fediverse (the correct term to describe what people frequently call "Mastodon") isn't Twitter and there are different social rules here.
